How long does a language class usually last?
Language classes typically last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, depending on the student’s preference and schedule. Some people prefer shorter, more frequent sessions, while others prefer longer lessons to dive deeper into the material. I’m happy to adjust the class length to what works best for you, though I personally believe 1 hour is the minimum to make the most of the lesson.
Why are there different CEFR levels for each language?
The CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) levels are used to measure and standardize language proficiency across different languages. The reason why there are different CEFR levels for each language in my classes is because of my native knowledge of Italian and Romanian, which corresponds to a C2 CEFR level. For these languages I have an in-depth understanding of the culture, idiomatic expressions, and nuances. For other languages, like English, German and Spanish, my proficiency is at a C1 level, so while I can still teach at an advanced level, I can’t offer the same native-level insight.
Can I take classes in my native language (e.g., German speakers learning Spanish)?
Yes, absolutely! Classes can take place in any of the languages I teach. I can teach in your native language to facilitate understanding, whether you’re a German speaker learning English, a Spanish speaker learning Italian, or any other combination. If needed, we can also use a common lingua franca to ensure smooth communication.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or reschedule your class up to 24 hours in advance – nothing will be charged! I also offer a money-back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied with your first class. The learning experience is my priority, and the goal is to ensure that everybody is happy with the lessons.
Can you help me prepare for language proficiency exams (e.g., DELE, TOEFL, Goethe)?
Yes, I can help prepare for English language proficiency exams, specifically Cambridge exams and IELTS. I use official preparation materials to ensure effective practice. While I am not a certified trainer, I can guide you through the process, improve your skills, and provide valuable insights into the structure and mechanisms of these exams to ensure you’re well-prepared on test day.
