These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of my professional services which include but are not limited to Translation, Localization, Subtitling and Language Tutoring. Related services may include: Proofreading and Editing, Quality Assurance, Machine Translation Post-Editing, Transcription, Captioning and similar offerings. By accessing or using my website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using my services.

1. General Information

1.1. Vanelates.com offers professional translation and related services led by Vanessa, an experienced and dedicated freelance translator.

1.2. These Terms apply to all clients who engage with my services.

2. Services

I offer the following core services:

2.1. I offer translation, subtitling, localization, machine translation post-editing (MTPE), and quality assurance (QA) services for a variety of content types, including but not limited to technical fields, social sciences, and multimedia.

2.2. Turnaround times and pricing will vary depending on the language combinations, scope, complexity, and length of the project.

2.3. All translation services are provided to the best of my ability. For specialized and niche subject areas, it is essential to provide any client-specific requirements, such as scripts, KNPs, reference files for subtitling, terminology glossaries, or other relevant resources, in advance. This ensures the correct application of terminology and adherence to the client’s expectations. Client-specific requirements and resources are welcomed for any other type of project.

3. Client Responsibilities

3.1. Clients must provide accurate and complete source material to facilitate the translation process.

3.2. Clients are responsible for ensuring that the content submitted for translation does not infringe any copyright laws or contain illegal material.

3.3. Payments must be made in accordance with the agreed terms before the final delivery of the project.

4. Confidentiality

4.1. All documents and information provided to me will be treated as confidential.

4.2. I will not disclose, share, or use your content for any purpose other than completing your translation project.

5. Revisions and Feedback

5.1. Clients may request up to 2 rounds of revisions within 5 days after the delivery of the project.

5.2. Revisions are limited to changes related to the original request and do not cover additional content or new requirements.

5.3. Feedback is appreciated to improve the quality of my services.

6. Payment Terms

6.1. Payment methods include bank transfer, credit card, PayPal.

6.2. A deposit of 50% may be required before work begins, with the remaining balance due upon project completion.

6.3. All payments are non-refundable once the final product has been delivered, except in cases of proven non-compliance with agreed terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1. I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of my services.

7.2. My maximum liability shall not exceed the total fees paid for the specific translation project in question.

8. Termination

8.1. Either party may terminate the agreement at any time with written notice.

8.2. Upon termination, the client will be charged for any completed work up to the termination date.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1. Translated content becomes the property of the client upon full payment.

9.2. I retain the right to use anonymized excerpts of translated content for marketing or portfolio purposes, subject to the client’s prior written consent upon request, unless the client explicitly requests otherwise.

10. Governing Law

10.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy.

10.2. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Italy.

11. Changes to Terms

11.1. I reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will take effect immediately upon posting to the website.

11.2. Continued use of the website or services after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
