Many companies request a portfolio to evaluate the quality and range of a translator’s expertise.
Due to the confidential and sensitive nature of the work I handle, my portfolio represents a modest but diverse range of work that I am proud of.
Every translator starts with smaller projects and gradually builds a body of work.
As I continue to grow in my career, I am committed to expanding and upgrading this portfolio whenever possible.

Snakes on a Plane
I was involved in the IT SDH QA subtitling process for Snakes on a Plane (Warner Bros. Discovey) in collaboration with Deluxe Inc. My primary role focused on the SDH QA of Italian subtitles, ensuring accuracy in timing, readability, and compliance with WBD standards. Additionally, I managed all on-screen and off-screen text (OST), including burned-in elements, principal photography text, precise caption positioning, and many other aspects a translator must handle during an SDH QA task.
This project was both fascinating, due to the importance of the movie and its cast (including Samuel L. Jackson), and technically demanding. I particularly enjoyed the chance to combine my expertise in localization, subtitling, and aviation terminology, as the film includes numerous technical terms (aircraft components, landing and take-off procedures, communication and radar guidance provided by ATC, and much more) that needed to be rendered from English into Italian.
While doing so, I had to carefully consider the target audience and strike the right balance in how technical the terminology should be in Italian, especially for OST elements. Should the translation remain standard? Would the audience fully understand the original meaning? Or should it be adapted in a more mainstream and widely recognized way?
It was an honour to work on such a classic.
The Italian SDH subtitles are available through Warner Bros. Discovery’s digital distribution and VOD platforms.

Happy Gilmore 2 (Un tipo imprevedibile 2)
I was involved in the full SDH subtitling process for Happy Gilmore 2, a sequel to the cult Happy Gilmore (1996), which made its debut on Netflix on July 25th, 2025. My primary role focused on the full transcription of Italian SDH subtitles, ensuring accuracy in timing, readability, and adherence to Netflix standards.
As every SDH project, it was fascinating, but at the same time required a lot of technical precision. Making content accessible means carefully deciding what non-verbal elements (like background sounds, tone of voice, or visual cues) need to be included in the subtitles, and how to represent them meaningfully. All this must be done while staying true to the client’s guidelines and specifications.
It was truly an honour to work on such a cult classic. Its countercultural spirit and unique sense of humour were a different kind of challenge at first, but they taught me a lot along the way.
Cool detail: Bad Bunny makes a surprising appearance, which added an extra layer of fun to an already enjoyable project.
Check out the movie on Netflix!

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
I was involved in the full IT SDH QA subtitling process for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, collaborating with Deluxe Inc. The movie is a crime-mystery and the third installment in the Knives Out film series, streaming on Netflix starting from December 2025. My role focused on the SDH QA of Italian subtitles, ensuring accuracy in timing, readability, and adherence to Netflix standards.
In addition to managing all on-screen and off-screen text (such as burned-in elements, principal photography text, captions, etc.) this project was particularly special to me as it was the first thriller with openly religious aspects.
It was a challenge, as many religious terms needed to be rendered from English into Italian: reverential expressions, roles of ecclesiastical importance, church names and ecclesiastic procedures. All new terminology that I needed to learn and know how to adapt for the target language and the target audience.
I kept learning new things throughout the entire project and adding this experience to other movies I worked on (Snakes on a Plane, The Sinners, The Survivors) I’ve now grown stronger… and can even watch thrillers without covering my eyes!
You can watch my work on Netflix starting this December!

American Primeval
I was involved in the full SDH QA subtitling process for American Primeval, a Netflix series, collaborating with Deluxe Inc. My primary role focused on the SDH QA of Italian subtitles, ensuring accuracy in timing, readability, and adherence to Netflix standards. Additionally, I managed all on-screen and off-screen text (OST), including burned-in elements, principal photography text, precise positioning of captions, along with many other aspects a translator must handle when performing an SDH QA task.
A particularly fascinating aspect of this project was adapting dialogue in Shoshone and other Native American languages, carefully refining forced narratives (FN) to ensure clarity for all viewers.
The series is already available on Netflix, and the subtitles will be available soon. Stay tuned!

The Sinners (I Peccatori )
I was involved in the conform and technical check of The Sinners, an original Warner Bros movie, in collaboration with Deluxe Inc. My main role focused on the final stage of the subtitling process, which included a full quality and technical check of the final subtitle template. This meant ensuring full compliance with the client’s specifications, reviewing for any missing technical elements or error tags, and confirming alignment with all guidelines.
This process involved a wide range of responsibilities typical for this type of task, including the management of all on-screen and off-screen text, checking subtitle grammar, formatting and line division, verifying sound cues and ensuring that song lyrics complied with copyright standards, among other checks.
It was my first time working on a supernatural horror with western revision elements, which was both challenging and chilling. What made the experience particularly unique was the almost 3-hour runtime and the fact that it was my first WB project.
Subtitles for The Sinners will be available on HBO Max soon. Stay tuned!

The Survivors (Ombre nell’acqua)
I was involved in the full SDH QA subtitling process for Ombre nell’acqua, an Australian Netflix mini-series, in collaboration with Deluxe Inc. My primary role focused on the SDH quality control of Italian subtitles, ensuring precise timing, readability, and full compliance with Netflix specifications.
I also managed all on-screen and off-screen text, including burned-in elements, principal photography text, and the accurate positioning of captions. This involved a wide range of responsibilities typically required when performing SDH QA, from speaker ID consistency to sound cue accuracy.
One of the most fascinating aspects of this project was working on the show’s dialogue density and high-tension scenes. It was my first time handling a psychological thriller with family drama elements, which proved both challenging and rewarding. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the chance to immerse myself in the stunning Australian coastal landscapes featured throughout the series.
The show is already available on Netflix, and the Italian SDH subtitles will be released soon. Stay tuned!

Casa a prima vista (Season 6)
I was involved in the full SDH subtitling process for Casa a prima vista (Season 6), a very popular Italian reality show broadcast on the TV network Real Time and focused on the work of real estate agents. My primary responsibility was the complete transcription of Italian SDH subtitles, ensuring accuracy in timing, readability, and full compliance with Warner Bros. Discovery subtitling standards.
In each episode, 3 real estate agents compete to meet the needs of clients looking for a home in Rome, Milan, or Florence. The agents operate from their headquarter, presenting properties and guiding clients through their options before a final decision is made.
This project was both interesting and technically challenging. It required learning new terminology and developing knowledge related to real estate and interior design. Due to the fast-paced format and visually dynamic style of the show, ensuring that all audio content, on-screen and off-screen dialogue, as well as relevant sounds and text were accurately transcribed was very demanding.
Each episode runs for 50 minutes, with 10 minutes dedicated to each real estate agent property presentation, and the remaining 20 minutes divided between the introduction and the client’s final choice.
I had the pleasure of subtitling 13 episodes to be broadcasted with SDH subtitles on Discovery+ and Real Time.

The Traitors Italia
I was involved in the template creation process (FULL SUB) for The Traitors Italy, an Amazon Original series, in collaboration with Deluxe Inc. To carry out this task, translators must be trained and certified to work according to Amazon’s standards. I was responsible for ensuring accuracy in timing and readability, and for managing all on-screen and off-screen text, including burned-in elements, principal photography text, and the precise positioning of captions, use of song lyrics, and sound cues, along with many other aspects a translator must handle when creating a template from scratch.
A particularly fascinating part of this project was adapting dialogue most often from Italian dialects into standard Italian, and compressing or rephrasing (as little as possible) sentences that were spoken too quickly to fit into a single subtitle without overlapping.
This project was a shift from my usual areas of specialization and gave me a new appreciation for reality shows.
You can watch my work on Amazon Prime Video starting from fall 2025!

Flight Crew Licensing & Continuing Airworthiness in Europe (EASA)
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) periodically updates its sets of regulations to ensure the safety, competence, and ongoing compliance of flight crew and aircraft maintenance. Find out how I adapted their publicly available leaflet for their stand at APATS 2018, which involved translating, adapting numerous acronyms and technical terms, as well as often adjusting the format to accommodate the longer Italian version.

Physical-Mathematical
Models for Industrial Engineering
Find out how I translated and adapted academic materials for a Master’s course in Mechanical Engineering for Sustainability by looking at some selected extracts.
This challenging project wouldn’t have been possible without the help and competence of the course professor, with whom I worked closely and debated every page adaptation, layout change, the conversion from handwritten to typed text and formulas, and terminology choice.
The entire project aimed to make the English adaptation as smooth and understandable as possible for students of all nationalities, without compromising precision.

Legal and civil translation
I’ve worked extensively on the translation and QA of legal and civil documents from Romanian into Italian, primarily via Translated on behalf of private clients.
My work has included divorce papers and requests, birth and baptism certificates, court documents, official corporate correspondence, legal materials concerning veterinary law, and invoices, among others.
These projects required absolute precision, clarity of legal terminology, and confidential handling of sensitive information.
Fiat Nuova 500 – 1957 advertisement
The Fiat Nuova 500, introduced in 1957, is an iconic city car known for its innovative design, affordability, and cultural significance in post-war Italy. I created and adapted SDH subtitles for its 1957 advertisement in both Italian and English to make it accessible to a wider audience. This involved translating the publicly available content (IT>EN), ensuring accessibility through SDH formatting, and maintaining accuracy and cultural relevance across both languages.
Córdoba, raíces árabes en Andalucía – 2018 documental NOTIMEX
Andalucía is one of Spain’s most fascinating and historically rich regions. Located in the southern part of the peninsula, it has been shaped by diverse external influences, most notably by the Arabic population and their impact in its development and cultural flourishing. I created and adapted SDH subtitles for this interesting short documentary about the southern Spanish city of Córdoba, produced by former Mexican news agency NOTIMEX, in both Italian and Spanish to make it accessible to a wider audience. This involved translating the publicly available content (ES>IT), ensuring accessibility through SDH formatting, and localizing historical and geographical references, including buildings, notable historical figures, regions, toponyms and more.
